Congratulations on your engagement!  Your wedding day should be unforgettable, and we are eager to be a part of it, and to help you with any planning along the way.  Let us help you make it everything you want it to be.  We are a historic church in the middle of downtown Geneva, convenient to many local reception venues.  The First Congregational Church in Geneva is an unforgettable setting for an unforgettable wedding. 

 

The church building dates from 1856 and offers that one-of-a-kind charm you just don’t find everywhere.  Our sanctuary seats about 175 people, and we have space available for outdoor weddings as well, with seating up to about 200.  You are welcome to arrange for your own minister if you wish, but your rental fee includes an officiant.  We do not have any requirements that the minister be a specific denomination or have a specific faith background, and we do not have any pre-marital class requirements.

We are an Open and Affirming church… What does that mean to us? There are many ways to categorize human beings.  Some of these, such as race, gender, sexual orientation or economic status might be considered significant to some people, but to us have no bearing on a person's humanity.  We are all children of God.  We are all made equally in his image.  Everything that makes you who you are was an intentional design by God.  To be Open and Affirming is to acknowledge this truth, and to welcome everyone to the church without regard for any external characteristic.  This church values diversity and hopes to provide a means for each person to contribute to the world in a way that is an expression of who they are.  We welcome the celebration of every marriage, regardless of your gender identity or sexual orientation.

Both an organ and piano are available for your musicians, as well as a state of the art sound system that can play recorded music if you prefer.  If you need help, we can assist you in finding an organist, pianist, or other musicians.
 

Finally, we have facilities available for both bridal showers as well as small, budget-friendly receptions.  Our Fellowship Hall seats about 90 people in addition to the head table, and has a kitchen available for catering service use. 

 

Our Mayflower Room makes a charming setting for bridal showers of any size and has a smaller kitchen available for either catering service use, or for your own supplied breakfast, brunch, lunch or just snacks.
